In his present role, Len directs the development of Reliant's new technology, products and applications.

Before joining Reliant, Len spent 11 years with Coherent Inc. in a variety of positions, ultimately becoming General Manager of the Medical Group. At Coherent, Len turned a poorly performing division into a profitable one with annual sales exceeding $100 million. Len reported to Dr. Walter Koechner, whose work and classical texts in solid-state lasers continue to be the reference of choice for the industry. Korad was founded by Theodore Maiman, who demonstrated the first lasing action in solid-state materials and built the first Ruby laser systems that were used in ophthalmology.

Len is a well-respected executive and a highly regarded scientist. Working closely with Dr. R. Rox Anderson at the Wellman Institute for Photomedicine, Len led the development of the system technology, scanner technology, biomedical and clinical studies upon which the Fraxel laser was built.
